Different skin types

If you have a client with sensitive skin you need to use a powder and not a liquid because it is less likely to cause problems for the client. Don't use waterproof cosmetics because when it gets taken off it can also remove sebum, the oily substance made by the sebaceous gland in the skin. You should throw out old cosmetics because the old make-up could become spoiled or contaminated. Use black-coloured eyeliner pencil, mascara and use a eyebrow fillers. Stick to earth tone colours for the eyeshadow, make sure you use products that have a SPF of 15 or more, use products that have no more than 10 ingredients.

If you have a client with oily skin you need to use a oil free foundation, eyeliner and mascara. Use a powder to take the shine away.

If you have a client with dry skin use a liquid foundation, apply small dots and blend it into your skin using a makeup sponge. Concealers that are liquid or creamy suit dry skin. Concealers can be used to hide birthmarks, dark spots, pimples and scars. Do not apply concealer under the eyes as it might highlight the dark circles. For dry skin makeup, choose a concealer that is a shade lighter than the foundation you use. Select creamy eye shadows and eyeliner. Use mascara and brow cosmetics of your choice. Powder and cheek stains do not suit dry skin type. Use a balm or salve. Over this, apply lip gloss or moisturizing lipstick.
